Chocolate Cannoli Dip
Don’t you just love the creamy deliciousness of a cannoli? What if you could have that same sweet decadence, but in about 10 minutes? Well, that’s what makes my chocolate cannoli dip so incredibly, awesome. It’s everything you love about cannoli’s, but with hardly any effort and only five ingredients!
So Good My Kids Licked The Bowl
The dip is not too sweet and has just a hint of chocolate. Perfect with fruit, graham crackers or even wafer cookies. I let my girls sample it and before I knew it they licked the bowl clean. Really…they actually licked it clean.
Tips & Tricks
A couple things to consider when making this, make sure your ricotta cheese isn’t too moist or this will become a runny mess. While putting this in the fridge will help firm it up, draining the cheese a little bit will help a lot.
When mixing in the cream and other ingredients, I used the aerate feature to get it become light and fluffy. Then by simply taking a vegetable peeler and a bar of chocolate I added the little chocolate shavings.
The dip only creates a small portion, that’s right for about two to four people. Really a very easy dessert and a nice way to end a romantic Valentine’s Day or Anniversary dinner. However, if you were making this for a crowd, I would double the recipe.
Try creating a variety of items for the dip if you’re thinking about making this for a large gathering. Put out fruit, cookies, pieces of angel food cake, marshmallows, even smashed waffle cones – really let your imagination go.
Go imagination…go!
Lightly sweetened chocolate cream is topped with chocolate curls. Chocolate Cannoli dip is delicious paired with fruit, graham crackers or even cookies.
- 1 cup Ricotta Cheese (Whole Milk)
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered confectioner’s sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
-
In an electric mixer combine the ricotta cheese and whipped cream until smooth. Then add in the vanilla, sugar and the cocoa powder, begin whipping slowly until everything is combined. Then increase the speed of the mixer until rounded peaks occur. Transfer and server with fruit, graham crackers or cookies.
Note: Make sure the Ricotta cheese has been drained or the mix will be too soupy.
To help it firm up a bit, you can place in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
