Some days I want something homemade, but with all the running around that happens, I wish food would just cook itself. That’s when the slow cooker becomes my absolute favorite go to kitchen appliance.

Slow Cooker Barbeque Chicken Tips & Tricks

To make my Slow Cooker Barbeque Chicken, just prep all the ingredients in the morning or at lunch time, set the cooker and by dinner we’re ready to roll.

The chicken cooks in four hours on high, but after 3 hours, you can use two forks and shred the chicken right in the crock pot. Then let the chicken cook a little bit longer in the sauce for another hour.

I find that four hours on high is the right time. The chicken is still a little firm and hasn’t turned into a mushy mess. If you find that the BBQ sauce is still a little watery, just add a little more corn starch to thicken it up.

This chicken is great with a side of green beans or you can eat it on a roll like a sandwich. One of my all-time favorite things to do with it, is to use it to top a baked potato. However, my kids love it with a side a macaroni and cheese (and I can’t blame them, I love it with mac and cheese too).

It’s a simple weekend meal that you can throw together with just a few simple ingredients, so you spend a little less cash and time in the kitchen.
